Final call for contributions and participants

 Audible OKR invites sound artists and researchers, built environment professionals, the users and residents of the Old Kent Road to contribute to and participate in an afternoon of sound on  Saturday 29th June 2019. This event is part of the London Festival of Architecture 2019.

This year’s theme for LFA is ‘Boundaries’ and with this in mind we invite you to respond to the Old Kent Road and the surrounding dense urban area of London. The Old Kent Road has served this city with its myriad of making industries, public housing, places of repository and repair. It is rich in cultural history, but now undergoing significant change following its designation as an Opportunity Area. Some of the extraordinary sounds of the area may be lost and many will change as the urban fabric is reconfigured and reconstructed. can sound provide an insight into the social and cultural make up of an area , can sound be used to frame the future economy and design the new forms and infrastructure.

Contributions can be in the form of a walk or talk, workshop or short sonic performative piece of about 10 minutes. Individual pieces and presentations as well as collaborations, particularly with local groups, are welcomed.
